Interim Rector

Rev. Scott Jones

The Rev. Scott Jones serves St. Sebastian’s as Interim Rector. Fr. Scott is
passionate about helping people deepen their walk with Christ and
developing Christian leaders who reflect the love of God through serving
others. Before coming to St. Sebastian’s, he served in the Episcopal
Diocese of Arizona, where he started a new church and led two other
established parishes in his 13 years of ministry in the Phoenix area.
Fr. Scott is a native of Central Florida and Melbourne Beach. St.
Sebastian’s was his childhood church, and he is honored and humbled to
have a chance to give back to the parish that was so important to his early
Christian formation. Fr. Scott came to the priesthood after careers as a
CPA and business owner. He was ordained in 2007.
When he is not attending church matters, he enjoys cooking, gardening,
reading, and playing the banjo (please don’t judge him!) He is married to
Yolanda, and they have two grown children, Amy, and Sean, and three
grandchildren, Dean, Logan, and Amelia.

Organist

Betsey Stansifer, Organist

Betsy Stansifer loves the joy that music brings to people and wants to enable others to use music to praise God and find their own fulfillment. Like lots of kids, she started taking piano lessons as a child and then went on to accompany friends during college. College also fed an interest in dead languages and the science behind language, and she is easily enticed by discussions about the mechanics of language. Attending a church college (St. Olaf College, Northfield MN), she also developed an interest in theology, both in theory and in day-to-day living. Although going to seminary was very appealing, ultimately the study of linguistics won out, and she attended Cornell University in that field. Teaching turned out to be the motivating force in Betsy’s life, whether it was teaching English to classes of foreign university students or piano to children. The challenge of devising the perfect explanation of grammar or helping someone make their fingers play the proper notes is as fun as a puzzle. Betsy and her husband Ryan have two sons, Paul and Eric, who live in the Boston area, and two grandsons, Mark and Jonah, with a little girl joining them in December, 2023.
